South West Region Women’s Law Association Bi-Annual Conference

The South West Region Women’s Law Association (SWRWLA) hosted it’s bi-annual conference on April 21, 2018. I had the privilege of attending this conference which featured two keynote speakers, Kim Stanton and Mary Eberts.

SWRWLA is an informal support and advocacy network for women lawyers. This year they are celebrating their 25th Anniversary. This group provides women lawyers the opportunity to connect with, support, and learn from, other women in the legal profession.

This year’s conference was filled with great discussion focusing on diversity, empowerment, and courage. Both speakers provided significant insight on the benefits of making space for inclusion and the way in which further diversity will help to advance the legal profession as a whole. They shared stories of accomplishment and failure throughout their careers and provided valuable tips to those in attendance. Overall, the conference was a powerful and enriching experience. I left with a renewed sense of focus and commitment to continue to press for progress and inclusivity both within and outside the legal community.
