Supreme Court says garage not liable for teen crash in stolen car

A garage owner should not be held responsible for the terrible injuries a teen suffered when he and a friend stole a car from his lot and crashed it in a “tragic set of events,” the Supreme Court of Canada said Friday.

London personal injury lawyer Maia Bent, counsel for the injured passenger, tells AdvocateDaily.com that it was not necessary for the court to go that far, as the facts in the case involved a commercial establishment that was tasked with the safe storage of vehicles.
