TASTINGS: The Wine Auction
Whether you are a wine connoisseur, or a person who just enjoys a nice bottle of wine, the Tastings silent auction will not disappoint. Wines from around the world will go home with the highest bidder. Most of the wines in the auction can only be purchased directly from the winery.
In addition to picking up a rich Bordeaux or a crisp Riesling, bidders can try to “win” items that enhance their style, travel and culinary experiences. The auction is now open – best to get an early bid on your favourite bottle or a new one you cannot wait to try.
Here are a few recommendations from Lerners’ Peter Kryworuk (who fits into the connoisseur category) on wines to place a bid on:
2012 Turley Petite Syrah Library Vineyard
1995 Château Clerc Milon
2008 Blankiet Estate Proprietary Red Wine Paradise Hills Vineyard
While everyone is excited to try to add a delicious wine (or a few) to their cabinet, the most important reason to bid in the Tastings silent auction is the beneficiary, the London Regional Cancer Program’s Patient Assistance Program. The compassionate Patient Assistance Program was designed to help patients in need with illness-related expenses that are not covered through the publicly funded system. Items such as medications, wigs, bras, prostheses, transportation, accommodations and/or child care add up quickly, and no one should have to compromise when it comes to their health.
Lerners LLP is proud to be the Vintner Sponsor of the Tastings fundraiser in support of the London Health Sciences Foundation. Tastings will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 6 PM at the London Hunt and Country Club. For more information about the event and to purchase tickets, please visit the Tastings website.
