“Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario” is now “Spinal Cord Injury Ontario”
For the past several years, I have been a committee member with Canadian Paraplegic Association Ontario – Southwest region. I am pleased to advise that the Canadian Paraplegic Association has recently had a membership vote to change their name to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario. Recognizing that the association assists Ontarians living with all degrees of spinal cord injuries, as well as people with other physical disabilities, the name change was a welcomed step in reflecting the far greater range of injuries the association provides support for.
I recently attended a SCIO focus group meeting to canvass and comment on some of the proposed new logo and branding changes. The rebranding ideas are exciting and should be released in the near future. I encourage you to keep your eyes open for it.
Additionally, I would like to mention that we are not that far away from the annual wheelchair relay challenges. The Windsor relay is Saturday, September 29, 2012 and the London relay is Saturday, October 13, 2012.
