Upcoming Golf Tournaments and Fundraisers
My team and I are excited about being part of the London Brain Injury Golf Classic and the Trauma Tournament again this year. Every year, Lisa Bradshaw, Shawn Smith and I dedicate a lot of time to help plan and execute these 2 tournaments to help raise money for very important causes. We are looking forward to another successful year this year!
London Brain Injury Golf Tournament – September 22, 2016
This is the 15th year that the charities of the Brain Injury Association and H.A.B.I.T. (Helping Acquired Brain Injury Treatment) have raised funds by holding a golf tournament at Greenhills Golf Course on the 3rd Thursday of September. We have been able to raise close to $450,000.00 over these years for these charities to assist families and individuals with acquired brain injuries and promote Public Awareness of the causes and impacts and prevention of brain injuries.
Trauma Golf Classic Tournament – Thursday, August 18th
The Trauma Golf Classic is a charity golf event that has been held annually since 2009 and which raises funds in support of London Health Science Centre – Trauma Program. The tournament was started by Nigel G. Gilby and the late Dr. Murray Girotti, Director LHSC Trauma Program.
The tournament is also the sole financial supporter of the “Dr. Murray Girotti Trauma Patient Assistance Fund” which provides emergency financial aid to families who have loved ones in the trauma program by helping with such things as parking expenses, meals, unexpected hotel stays, etc.
To date the tournament has raised in excess of $640,000.00.
The 2016 Trauma Golf Classic is being held on Thursday, August 18th and is hosted at the exclusive RiverBend Golf Club.”
