Time to look at the big picture

Jonathan Dew died in a Windsor jail in 2012 after a breakdown in monitoring his health, with information not recorded or shared among staff and his symptoms chalked up to drug withdrawal, an inquest concluded Friday.

The lawyer representing Dew’s family, Andrew Murray, told the coroner’s jury Friday that more than an inquest-by-inquest approach was needed to fix the province’s corrections system and suggested a review of the “body of recommendations” from previous inquests.
