The Ambassador Golf Club, designed by famed golf course architect Thomas McBroom, is one of the top courses in the country. McBroom is responsible for the creation of some of the world’s most outstanding courses, continuously ranked among the best in Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe. The Ambassador Golf Club, like other Thomas McBroom’s creations, is known for its quality, design, and long-lasting beauty.
The Ambassador, a par 71, 7000 + yard, 18-hold public course, opened in 2005 and secured a nomination for the ”Best New Course” from Golf Digest the same year. It is considered the venue of choice for golfing in Windsor & Essex Counties and has hosted a wide array of events, both amateur and professional, including PGA Canada, CP Women’s Tour, and Canadian College Championships.
And when you’ve finished your 18, you can refuel at their Tuscan Grill helmed by Windsor-borne, Italian-trained executive chef Daniele Palanca. Try gems like their Ambassador Burger (Ontario Beef, Local Mozzarella, Sapori tomatoes, arugula, spicy mayo on a fresh baked bun) or snack on their famous Mac & Cheese Balls!
Roseland Golf & Curling Club
A designated heritage site for the Windsor-Chatham area, Roseland Golf & Curling Club features an 18-hole, championship golf course along with a 9-hole par three course, and curling amenities. The courses, designed by famed architect Donald Ross, are open to the public typically from the end of May until the first weeks of December.
First opened in 1928, Roseland Golf & Curling Club was restored to its original specifications in 2012, including the bringing back into play of 20 bunkers that had eroded over the years.
The onsite restaurant features favourites like Chicken Fingers, Fish & Chips, and always popular Perogies; they also feature several vegetarian options.
Roseland Golf & Curling Club has received the highest rating for the Windsor-Chatham area by Golf Canada magazine.
